Covering the western end of the Solent, the RNLI's Yarmouth Lifeboat Station on the Isle of Wight operates the largest class of lifeboat, the Severn class. The station has been based at Yarmouth Harbour since 1924. 17 awards for gallantry have been presented to the crew.
